I need to rant about Merlin

It just ruined my life.

I mean okay, there were many things to do in the first three seasons so magic reveal wasn’t really an option, and that was good, but now there was seriously time for that and it didn’t happen. Things that ACTUALLY happened in this season were:

- Uther who was already braindead died for real.
- Arthur is officially king now.
- Arthur called Merlin FRIEND.
- We have a new dragon.
- Arthur married Gwen.

And… that’s it?

Other things that… happened… sort of… but WHY?!

- Morgause who seemed dead died for real - no point
- Agravaine appeared in the first episode of the season and died in the last - why did they have to even include him in the series for that? POINTLESS.
- Arthur and Gwen parted and then got together again after some bullshit, but even the parting part wasn’t really cool - WHY?!
- Arthur learned that Camelot loves him after the 21472819568956185th time.
- Arthur realized he loves Gwen even if he shouldn’t love her for the 4737856782365th time.
- Gaius almost died but then he didn’t for the 983657816573165318th time.
- Merlin’s abilities were almost revealed for the 52784638563151th time.
- Morgana managed to get the crown and failed to keep it for the 32946187563155th time.
- Arthur hugged Merlin while he was BRAINDEAD.

So yeah, I’m quite angry. Actually the whole season felt like it built tension for the magic reveal, but it built the tension for nothing. There were 13 episodes and FIVE ACTUALLY IMPORTANT THINGS HAPPENED AND TWO OF THOSE ARE ACTUALLY THE SAME THING (Uther’s death + King Arthur).

I just don’t get it. There was no real cliffhanger, it ended like some Reese Witherspoon romantic comedy which wouldn’t be bad if it was a Reese Witherspoon romantic comedy BUT I NEVER SAW HER ON THE CAST LIST AS I REMEMBER. So it just pissed me off. Okay, little dragon is evil, sure, but MERLIN IS THE DRAGONLORD YAY so does that actually matter at all? There’s NO excitement at all for next season, all I have is this frustration.

Morgana will probably do something again next year. Maybe with the help of Mordred. And then after a whole season they will FAIL. And maybe there will be magic reveal. MAYBE NOT.

I see a fantastic storyline unfolding there.
